  • Jon W Stevenson Jr.

Jolene's brother went home to be with the Lord on Monday. He took his own life. Please pray for us and the family as we alternate between sorrow and praise for God's goodness through all.

So if I were to provide an accurate picture of what I've been spending time on, it would include Stargate SG-1 seasons 1-9, Stargate SG-Atlantis Seasons 1-2, Alias seasons 1 and 2, and George R.R. Martin's series "A Song of Ice and Fire" books 1 and 2.  Along with a little tiny bit of work around the house, and a whole lot of ignoring the lot of construction work in the basement.

Some poker on Thursday's has occurred... I think I'm net -$10 or so for all the weeks I've played, but it's just for fun anyway.   Personally I'd rather play D&D but I can't manage to get an invitation from my friends yet..... argh!!

I've contacted the ICCM, no, not the 1st or 2nd hit in google, this is the Int'l Conference on Computing and Missions, to see how I might assist them I'll likely be getting together with a local group shortly for some assistance based on that contact, we'll see.

God has been good to me and my family.. I got a promotion at the bank recently to Vice President # 4985703. and Sr. Engineer.

This house has been great and we are so blessed. Jolene and I are so thankful for how God has blessed us and our marriage. As Jolene has mentioned we are planning on homeschooling the kids come fall, so we'll see what opportunities that opens up for travel and visiting with me being able to work virtually anywhere...

work work (said in a peasant voice)

I had an enhancement surgery in my left eye yesterday. It was faster than last time and seems to be less post-op pain, maybe because they had to carve out less of my eyeball.   Should bring my left eye closer to being 20/20.

We've made proress spackling the office and I ran speaker wires. I think we're ready to drywall the ceiling, which technically you're supposed to do first, but whatever. I bought a circle attachment for my rotozip, should make the holes for the recessed lights easier. It won't help me put them in the right place any better, but we'll see how that goes.

I got my new system internals for my main computer. It's a 2Ghz Core 2 duo, 2GB RAM, 7900GT video card. Now I can play "Oblivion" at good framerates and "Titan Quest" is super quick. I haven't even loaded up any of my older games, I'm too sucked into Oblivion -- one of the best games I've ever played.
